发明名称 In-device coexistence interference avoidance
摘要 A mobile communications system is described in which a mobile device is operable to communicate with a base station using a first radio technology and with other devices using a second radio technology. In case of in-device coexistence interference being detected due to concurrent use of the first and second radio technologies, the mobile device provides assistance information to the base station, based on which the base station generates control data which is sent to the mobile device which uses it to alleviate the interference. The first radio access technology (RAT) may be LTE, cellular communication. The second radio access technology (RAT) may be an Industrial, Scientific and Medical band technology e.g. Wi-Fi, or Bluetooth or GPS, for example. The assistance information may comprise an indication of current or target bit rate s703 for the second RAT or current mean or maximum allowed mean interference s705 of the second RAT. The assistance information may also comprise an indication that the base station uses a non-preferred communication technology for concurrent use with the second RAT. The assistance information may comprise information relating to a spectrum mask. The control data may comprise an instruction to release a connection or modify an operating parameter of the first and/or second RAT such as modifying time-division multiplexing (TDM) s704 or frequency division multiplexing (FDM) s706 parameters. The control data may comprise a base station preference for a solution to be applied by the mobile device. The mobile device may further send an indication that interference has been alleviated. Radio Resource Control (RRC) messages may be used to exchange the assistance information and control data.
