The method involves guiding and heating two foils (1) lying on top of each other between a heatable welding element and a supporting element (5). A band (11-14) made of temperature-resistant and low-friction material, particularly Teflon(RTM: Polytetrafluoroethylene) covers the contact surface of the welding element. The foils are continuously transported between the welding element and the supporting element. An independent claim is also included a device for longitudinal welding of foils made of thermoplastic plastic. |
