PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic light-emitting device containing a heterocyclic compound which has improved electric stability, charge transporting capability and light-emitting capability, and has a high glass transition temperature that is high enough to prevent crystallization. SOLUTION: The heterocyclic compound is provided in which a first moiety (a pyrene part) and a second moiety (an aryl amine part) are linked by a divalent linking group represented by -(Ar<SB POS="POST">3</SB>)<SB POS="POST">n</SB>-. The organic light-emitting device is provided which has an organic film containing the heterocyclic compound. A flat display is also provided which has the organic light-emitting device, wherein a first electrode of the organic light-emitting device is electrically connected to a source electrode or a drain electrode of a thin film transistor.
