A helmet cover is constructed from specific patterns a1, a2 of an elastic printable fabric to fit a range of specific helmet types; the helmet cover is secured to a helmet via detachable securing straps c which secure to the chin harness of a helmet; the helmet cover further includes hollow piping e to receive illumination means which may be in the form of electroluminescent wire g threaded through the hollow piping; the helmet cover includes an internal pouch d which may receive a power supply for the illumination means; the pouch is preferable water proof.
