The coupling (10) has a coupling part (14) inserted into another coupling part (12) in a longitudinal direction of the coupling parts. Retaining elements (58) are arranged on the latter coupling part and are movable between a retention position and a release position. A slide (72) is biased into an advanced position and sealing elements (45) are arranged on an end of the former coupling part directed towards the latter coupling part while sealing off an interior of the coupling with respect to a fluid, when the latter coupling part is connected to the former coupling part. An independent claim is also included for a method for producing a coupling part of a coupling for a medical instrument for connecting two lines.
