The apparatus has an operating unit (1) selecting or configuring an apparatus program for feedthrough a household apparatus outlet. A microcontroller (9) controls a display device (7) based on control actions or household apparatus outlet providing information to a user. The microcontroller is established for a selected apparatus program to display the information to the display device over expected or actual present power consumption. An output of the information is formed by the user using a control handle (6) over the power consumption. An independent claim is also included for a cooking apparatus.
