PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a field device enabling firmware of a wireless module to be developed at a minimum cost and facilitating connection to an application of a host side such as an asset management system. SOLUTION: In a signal transmission method for the field device installed in a plant, factory or the like, is connected to a higher-order distributed control system by a signal line to receive or output signals of 4-20 mA, and includes a radio signal transmitter-receiver transmitting or receiving data linked to a signal processor in the form of a radio signal, data is radio-transmitted from the radio signal transmitter-receiver using part of a digital communication protocol frame used in 4-20 mA devices.
