The present invention relates to a laundry treating apparatus and a control method for the laundry treating apparatus, the laundry treating apparatus comprising: a tub which accommodates washing water; a drum which is provided in the tub to rotate therein; an air supply unit which supplies air to the tub; a coolant supply unit which supplies coolant to the inner side of the tub such that moisture contained in the air is condensed on the inner side of the tub; and a control unit which controls the coolant supply unit to selectively supply coolant according to the selection of users, wherein the control unit determines a selected drying course as the drying course is selected, and supplies coolant for generating condensate according to the determined drying course or cuts off the supply such that the drying course is performed.
