The present invention relates to a composition containing fucoidan as an active ingredient for oral cleansing or an antibacterial composition against oral bacteria. Fucoidan according to the present invention has superior antibacterial effect against oral bacteria, thereby being used as a composition for oral cleansing or an antibacterial composition against oral bacteria and also being used for preventing or treating periodontal diseases caused by oral bacteria.
