PURPOSE: A dust collector and a method for controlling the dust collector are provided to detach dust efficiently by performing rapping under the condition that electrical connection between a discharge electrode and a transformer is blocked. CONSTITUTION: A dust collection apparatus comprises a main body part(20), a discharge electrode(17), a dust collecting plate(16), a transformer(12), a rapping device(14) and a power blocking part(13). The discharge electrode is installed in the main body part, and conducts dusts with the electricity of a cathode. The dust collecting plate is installed in the main body part and collects fine dust by being conducted as an anode. The transformer supplies power to the discharge electrode. The rapping device is connected to the discharge electrode, and separates dust attached to the surface of the discharge electrode. The power blocking part controls electrical connection between the discharge electrode and the transformer. |
