A dielectric barrier discharge lamp device (10) comprises: a lamp house (11) which has a light irradiation opening (12); a mesh electrode (30) which is formed of a porous conductor that is arranged at the light irradiation opening (12) of the lamp house (11); a discharge container (32) that is obtained by having a discharge gas sealed in a light-transmitting container; a member (40) which functions as both an electrode and a container holder and which is formed separately from the discharge container (32) so as to sandwich the discharge container (32) between the mesh electrode (30) and the member (40); and a power supply device that applies a voltage for discharge between the mesh electrode (30) and the member (40) which functions as both an electrode and a container holder. The discharge container (32) is supported by the mesh electrode (30).
