A reproduction control device in a portable terminal and a method thereof are provided to automatically block a screen in case of more than a certain level of speed while a car is moving, and to resume the screen from the corresponding position to output the screen if the speed is less than the certain level of speed, thus a driver is able to watch broadcasting programs safely. A DMB(Digital Multimedia Broadcasting) receiver(100) receives a broadcasting signal. An output unit(150) converts the broadcasting signal into a digital signal to output the digital signal. A key input unit(110) inputs channel changing and power on/off commands from a user. A memory unit(114) temporarily stores broadcasting output data. A speed sensor(116) senses a mobile speed of a car. A controller(112) continuously stores the broadcasting output data as storing a position in case of screen blocking, in order to control so that broadcasting is reproduced from the corresponding position by using the stored broadcasting data in case of screen resuming. |
