A method and an apparatus for providing a transaction protection service in electronic commerce are disclosed. The method according to a desirable embodiment of the present invention comprises: providing information about a product to be sold for a client; receiving reservation information about at least one product among the product information from the client; transmitting account information corresponding to the reservation information to the client; receiving information about deposit payment of the account information from a financial server; transmitting the product reservation information to the seller of the reserved product; receiving purchase request information about the product; transmitting, to the client, account information corresponding the purchase request information about the product information; receiving information about purchase price payment about the account information from the financial server; receiving purchase completion information from the client; and directing the purchase price to be transferred to the account information of the product seller. According to the present invention, a transaction protection service can be provided in electronic commerce regardless of product price or product feature, and both a seller and a buyer are able to sell and buy a product safely.
