A backlight unit is provided to improve the viewing angle characteristics by improving the luminance uniformity. A backlight unit comprises a diffuse sheet formed with a light source, a prism sheet, and a top/bottom diffusion layer. The light source(23) generates light. A prism sheet(27) located upper part of the light source condenses the light from the light source. A light diffusing sheet located on the prism sheet diffuses the light from the prism sheet. The light diffusing sheet has an upper diffusing sheet and a lower diffusing sheet. |
