A forging method includes side upsetting cylindrical billets by 20-50 % of their height by convex elongated (circular) plates with ratio of radius of the plates to the billet diameter in the range of 0.5-2.5 and die forming to final size in forging grooves. Upsetting is performed by providing the axis eccentricity of convexity of plates to the vertical axis of the billet.
