FIELD: transport.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to rail vehicle with synchronous motor drive excited by permanent magnets. Note here that switch device is arranged between converter and drive motor to connect drive motor with converter in motor mode and, in generator mode, to connect it with at least one brake resistor. Said switch is composed of air drive device communicated with main airline of control over air operated brake system. On motor mode when pressure in said main control air line exceeds threshold magnitude said drive motor is connected with converter.
