A method for controlling an apparatus for issuing a bankbook is disclosed. The method for controlling the apparatus for issuing the bankbook according to the present invention, receiving an original bankbook from a client and issuing a new bankbook stored in a bankbook medium cassette, includes a) a step for printing an unrecorded list on the new bankbook; b) a step for determining whether the new bankbook is carried forward or not; c) a step for inputting a command that the client continuously want to update the bankbook if the new bankbook is carried forward; d) a step for discharging the new bankbook without recoding MS information on the new bankbook if the client continuously want to update the bankbook and discharging the new and the original bankbook if the client doesn’t want to update the bankbook in the c) step.
