The present invention relates to an air compressor system in which an inverter is embedded and a control method thereof. The air compressor system includes a screw type air compressor unit providing compressed air; a control unit including the inverter controlling the operation of the air compressor unit; a monitoring unit which monitors the air compressor unit via a sensor installed on the air compressor unit; and an energy saving unit which reduces the energy consumption of the air compressor unit by changing a control method of the control unit.
