A portable terminal is provided to reduce the thickness and width of a terminal by forming substrate installation holes, which the substrate of a side keypad is inserted into, at a terminal housing and supporting the substrate through the substrate installation holes, without forming a rib at the terminal housing in order to support the substrate. A portable terminal comprises a terminal housing, a side keypad(30), and a substrate installation part. The side keypad is installed at the side of the terminal housing. The substrate installation part, where the substrate(34) of the side keypad is mounted, is formed at the terminal housing. The substrate installation part is composed of a plurality of holes(54) into which one side of the substrate of the side keypad can be inserted. The terminal housing consists of the first housing(42) and the second housing(44). A key button installation part, where the key button(32) of the side keypad is installed, is formed at the side of the first housing. The holes are penetratively formed at the second housing. |
