Exhaust line for heat engine of car, has air injector placed on exhaust line between compact catalyst groups and under floor catalyst for injection of air in line, and oxygen probe placed on exhaust line between injector and catalyst

The line has a compact catalyst group (3) arranged on an exhaust line (1) near an exhaust manifold (2) and in upstream of an underfloor catalyst (5). An air injector (4) is placed on the exhaust line between the compact catalyst groups and the under floor catalyst for injection of air in the exhaust line. An oxygen probe (6b) e.g. linear or two-point oxygen probe, is placed on the exhaust line between the injector and the under floor catalyst. The compact catalyst group has small volume and stronger density of cells than the under floor catalyst. An independent claim is also included for a depollution method for implementing a depollution system in an exhaust line.
