The method involves compressing powder between two external surfaces (22, 32) of male and female dies (2, 3) moving relative to each other, where the dies include metal structures (20, 30). Parts of the external surfaces are arranged in relief i.e. embossing, such that a part of a top portion (11) and a part of a lower portion (12) of a crockery article (10) are manufactured in relief, where the embossing has depth of between 0.5 mm and 2 mm. The relief of the external surfaces is located on a periphery of the external surfaces. An independent claim is also included for a crockery article.
