A Wheelchair Protective Fender has been designed where it is connected in a fixed position to a wheelchair frame using the Vertical Slotted Post and a Post Clamp Receiver, which are unique for the purpose of mounting this fender to the wheelchair. The Wheelchair Protective Fender is a thin-walled, generally convex shaped, rigid shell structure. The Vertical Slotted Post is an elongated, rigid slotted post that is oblong shaped. The Post Clamp Receiver has two parts that are connected together and is made with a rigid material and has an internal contoured shape. The Wheelchair Protective Fender has been designed to cover the propulsion wheel treaded surface and does not interfere with the push rim manual operation, for added protection. This invention protects the user from road debris and moisture during forward and backward propulsion. The design also allows safe independent transfer in and out of the wheelchair. |
