No blocking occurs during pre-foaming, the foamed particles exhibit excellent fluidity, separation of a coating medicinal agent can be prevented, fusion is good, and no oil leakage occurs. The foamable styrene-based resin particles are created by impregnating styrene-based resin particles with a foaming agent. The resin particle surfaces are coated with a composition. The composition comprises a polyethylene glycol (A) having a molar weight of 400 or less that coats the resin particle surfaces, 0.003-0.04 part by weight a of fatty acid triglyceride per 100 parts by weight of said resin particles, 0.2-0.8 part by weight of a fatty acid metal salt per 100 parts by weight of said resin particles, and a polyethylene glycol (B) having a molar weight of 400 or less. The content of the aforementioned polyethylene glycols (A, B) is 0.02-0.08 part by weight per 100 parts by weight of said resin particles, and coating is performed in two separate steps. |
