The brush holder device according to the invention comprises a plate bearing a brush holder assembly. According to the invention, each of the brush holders receives, on the outer end thereof opposite the end thereof whereat a brush that the brush holder receives is placed in electrical contact with a collector, a bushing (6) made of a dielectric material and comprising a means for supporting a conductive element (5) for electrically connecting the brush to at least one separate brush, of a similar polarity, received in an equivalent brush holder remotely attached onto the plate. The bushing carries out a function of electrically and mechanically insulating the brushes and brush holders opposite a protective casing surrounding the assembly formed by the brush mounting, the brush holders, and the brushes. The bushing also carries out a function of electrically and mechanically insulating the brushes and brush holders opposite the bridge between brushes, and a mechanical function for supporting said bridge between brushes.
