PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a translation support device in which translation can be performed efficiently by promptly displaying a plurality of translation candidates corresponding to a word selected at the time of translation work, easily selecting the translation candidates, and performing batch substitution.SOLUTION: A translation support device includes: dictionary means for storing dictionary data containing at least a word of a specific language and a word in another language corresponding to the word of the specific language; specification means for specifying a selection range of a word as a search target to a document including the word as a search target; search means for performing a whole longest-match search according to a word included in the specified selection range while employing the dictionary data as a search target; and display control means for displaying a word of the another language corresponding to a word which exhibits coincidence by means of the whole longest-match search; wherein the whole longest-match search is performed with all characters in the selection range in the dictionary means; and when no coincidence is detected, the characters in the selection range is reduced character by character from the top thereof. |
