The device (100) has a smart card circuitry comprising a terminal (102) coupled with high supply potential. A switch (106) couples another terminal (104) with low supply potential. A voltage source (107) is coupled with the latter terminal. A control device (108) i.e. control processor, opens the switch in response to reception of switching off signal in an operation mode, in which the switch is closed. The voltage source is controlled such that the voltage source changes the low potential of the latter terminal is changed in a direction of the high supply potential.
