PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a game control device, game control method, program, and game system, capable of achieving a highly amusing game when using position information of a communication terminal.SOLUTION: A game control device includes: an acquisition means for acquiring position information indicating the position of a communication terminal of a user; a discrimination means for discriminating whether the communication terminal is present in a prescribed area where an event is held during an event period in which the prescribed event is held based on the position information; and a giving means for giving a first privilege on a game to the user in a first prescribed period from a prescribed hour after the discrimination that the communication terminal is present in the prescribed area during the event period.
