Provided is a hermetic secondary battery having a small variation of the actuation pressure of a current blocking mechanism even if being used for a long period of time. The hermetic secondary battery is equipped with a current blocking mechanism (80) that is actuated by the pressure rise inside a battery case (12) and disconnects the conducting path between an electrode and an electrode terminal. The current blocking mechanism (80) includes a pressure sensitive member (30) having a plate-shaped pressure sensitive deformation portion (32) that is deformed by the pressure rise inside the battery case (12) from a first state to a second state via snap-through deformation, and is configured so that the pressure sensitive deformation portion (32) undergoes the snap-through deformation, thereby disconnecting the conducting path.
