The system has a suction line (30) connected with a secondary air fan (28) at an input side. A pressure line (32) connected with the secondary air fan at an output side. A reducing unit reduces propagation of airborne sound over the suction line and/or the pressure line. The reducing unit comprises a throttle and a non-return valve (40) whose passage direction (42) corresponds to a flow direction of secondary air. The reducing unit is integrated into a coupling i.e. quick connector, through which the pressure line is connected with a secondary air valve (38). An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine.
