The present invention relates to a washing machine and a control method thereof. According to the present invention, the washing machine improves washing efficiency and reduces the use of detergent and washing water by allowing a drum to store the washing water for a specific time. The washing machine comprises: a tub for storing the washing water; the drum which is formed inside of the tub to be rotated and has multiple through holes connected to the tub on the outer surface thereof; and a circulation part which supplies the washing water stored in the tub to the drum. |
