Apparatus and method for monitoring performance of a solid oxide fuel cell system is disclosed. The apparatus for monitoring performance of an SOFC system comprises: a controller for producing control signals controlling peripheral devices of a fuel cell according to a preset control pattern; a performance monitoring unit receiving operation data of the peripheral devices and comparing the received operation data with the control pattern; a display unit indicating the control pattern and operation data of the peripheral devices for monitoring; and an input/output interface unit transferring the control signals to the peripheral devices of the fuel cell, and the operation data of the peripheral devices to the performance monitoring unit. The present invention has an effect of monitoring and finally managing the peripheral device system for the SOFC by monitoring all events generated in the peripheral devices based on an H/W platform, by taking charge of the whole process of the system as necessary, and inputting or outputting signals corresponding to the driving state by transferring the control signals about the driving state to the grid system or the driver.
