PURPOSE: A system and method for notifying a fault of a lighting device are provided to automatically determine the fault of the lighting device by recognizing the illumination change of the lighting device using the quantity of power consumed in the lighting device. CONSTITUTION: A lighting device(110) is installed in a specific area of the indoor or the outdoor and emits light to a corresponding area. A watt-hour meter(120) detects the quantity of power consumed in each lighting group composed of a plurality of lighting devices. The watt-hour meter provides the detected power quantity to a control server(140) through a lighting control unit.
