PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical modulator capable of suppressing a decrease in image quality by reducing speckle patterns with a simple configuration.SOLUTION: An optical modulator 42 includes: a movable part 421a that is provided rotatably relative to a base part 41, and changes its attitude between an ON state and an OFF state; a light reflection part 421b that is provided above the movable part 421a, and reflects visible light; and a deformation part 423 that is provided above the movable part 421a, and deforms according to a change in temperature. The deformation part 423 absorbs invisible light to raise its temperature, which leads to a change in the surface shape into a curved convex surface. |
