The system has metallic channels that are fed with cooling water. A part of water-conducting channels is equipped with a hydrophilic surface. A part of the metallic channels is made of stainless steel and provided with a hydrophilic coating. A heat exchanger is provided with a water-conducting part that is hydrophilically coated. PEM fuel cell stack is integrated in the system, and cooling passages of the fuel cell stack are hydrophilically coated. Metal plates e.g. stainless steel plates, for the formation of cooling passages are provided in the fuel cell stack.
