PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric motor with a speed reducer that prevents the electric motor from protruding from an output member of the speed reducer toward a radiation direction (a radial direction) and thereby achieves a small size.SOLUTION: An electric motor 1 with a speed reducer includes a main shaft member 200 which is formed into a substantially cylindrical bar shape and is fixed to a motor housing 110 by one end part 201 to be disposed therein, the main shaft member 200 where the one end part 201 is journaled substantially at the center of a bottom part 111 of the motor housing 110 and the other end part 202 protrudes outward from an opening of the motor housing 110. An armature 130 is disposed in the motor housing 110 with being coaxially arranged with the main shaft member 200 and enclosing the main shaft member 200. The speed reducer 10 is disposed between the armature 130 and the other end part 202 of the main shaft member 200 with enclosing the main shaft member 200. An output member 16 formed into an annular shape is coaxially arranged with the speed reducer 10 thereat, with enclosing the main shaft member 200.
