PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide self-releasing fuser members for an image-forming apparatus for low-oil or oil-less, long-lifetime, high performance fusing applications; and methods of making the members.SOLUTION: A self-releasing fuser member comprises a substrate, and an outer layer polymer matrix having a surface and covering the substrate. The outer layer polymer matrix comprises a fluoropolymer and fluorocarbon chains. The fluorocarbon chains are bonded to the fluoropolymer, and include: a fluorinated fluorocarbon chain bonded to the fluoropolymer via a linking group; a quaternary, tertiary, or secondary carbon atom; and a reactive group. The fluorocarbon chains are oriented nonparallel to the surface of the self-releasing fuser member. |
