PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide sample support structures useful for supporting samples for analysis using microscopic techniques, such as electron microscopy, optical microscopy, x-ray microscopy, UV-VIS spectroscopy and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) techniques.SOLUTION: A reinforced sample support structure includes an array of membrane regions supported by and divided by at least one reinforcement region. The at least one reinforcement region and the membrane regions are made of the same material. |
