PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem of a conventional up-sampling process that this process causes jaggies to occur in aslant contour lines, etc.SOLUTION: An image processing device of the present invention comprises: an image input section to which a first image is input; a direction similarity calculation section which calculates a similarity in a longitudinal direction, a lateral direction, a first oblique direction, and a second oblique direction; a first interpolation section which interpolates to generate first new pixels according to the similarity of a first image in the first and the second oblique directions and thereby generates a second image having pixels of the first image and the first new pixels arranged in honeycomb form; and a second interpolation section which interpolates to generate second new pixels according to the similarity of the second image in the longitudinal and the lateral directions and thereby generates a third image having the pixels of the first image, the first new pixels, and the second new pixels arranged lengthwise and crosswise. |
