The present invention relates to a solar cell capable of improving photoelectric conversion efficiency and a manufacturing method thereof. The solar cell according to the present invention comprises a semiconductor wafer; multiple upper groove lines formed in a predetermined depth from the upper surface of the semiconductor wafer; an upper semiconductor layer formed on the upper surface of the semiconductor wafer and the groove lines; multiple first electrodes formed on the upper semiconductor layer formed on each of the upper groove lines and inserted inside the semiconductor wafer; and a second electrode formed on the lower surface of the semiconductor wafer.
