PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a resin composition for paste, which is excellent in thixotropic nature and reduced in baking residue.SOLUTION: A resin composition for paste includes: an organic solvent; an insoluble polymer A which includes methacrylate monomer-derived structural units and is insoluble to the organic solvent, in which the value obtained by subtracting the solubility parameter of the organic solvent from the solubility parameter of a single polymer of at least one of the methacrylate monomers is 0.1 (cal/cm)or more; and a soluble polymer B which includes methacrylate monomer-derived structural units and is soluble to the organic solvent, in which the value obtained by subtracting the solubility parameter of the organic solvent from the solubility parameter of a single polymer of at least one of the methacrylate monomers is less than 0.1 (cal/cm). The total ratio of the methacrylate monomer-derived structural units with the value being 0.1 (cal/cm)or more is larger in the insoluble polymer A than in the soluble polymer B.
