PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To optimize the amount of a sheet member to be taken up after a face surface of a recording head is wiped by the sheet member, thereby allowing recovery operation of the recording head without wasting the sheet member.SOLUTION: A recording device has a sheet member for wiping a face surface of a recording head with an outlet for discharging a liquid formed thereon, and a winding means for winding the sheet member. The amount of sheet to be wound by the winding means is determined to correspond to a lapse time between first wiping operation and second wiping operation following the first purging operation using the sheet member. |
