PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an organic pigment composition with excellent chroma of colored matter and so excellent heat resistance that a long-period heat history slightly changes the hue of colored matter.SOLUTION: The organic pigment composition comprises 0.1-15 pts. mass of nonvolatile matter of a copolymer (B) of two or more types of acrylic or methacrylic acid esters side chains of which have different carbon atom numbers per 100 pts. mass of an organic pigment (A). In a method of producing the organic pigment composition, the organic pigment (A) is: pressurized and heated in a liquid medium in the presence of the nonvolatile matter of the copolymer (B) of two or more types of acrylic or methacrylic acid esters side chains of which have different carbon atom numbers; or milled by solvent salt milling in the presence of the nonvolatile matter of the copolymer (B) of two or more types of acrylic or methacrylic acid esters side chains of which have different carbon atom numbers. A color filter comprises the organic pigment composition obtained in the production method in pixel parts.
