PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated article with excellent corrosion resistance even when silicon, boron or the like is added thereto in order to improve the wear resistance, and to provide a method for manufacturing the same.SOLUTION: A coated article with a hard coating film being coated on a surface of a base material of an article formed by a metal as a base material by the physical vapor deposition method is provided. The hard coating film includes a layer a formed of a nitride or carbonitride of chromium containing ≥50% chromium in terms of atom% of only the metal component (including the semi metal), and layers b which are coated over the layer a with the film thickness of each layer being ≤100 nm, while the nitride or the carbonitride with different composition is alternately layered. The surface of the layer a is polished, and each layer of the layer b contains ≥50% chromium in terms of the atom% of only the metal component (including semi metal), and silicon and/or boron is contained in at least any one of the layers. The coated article has the excellent corrosion resistance. |
