A device for selectively hydrogenating a biocompatible solution, which comprises: a hydrogen-generating system (c-1) containing, as an essential component, a hydrogen-generating agent which is a metal having a higher ionization tendency than hydrogen or a metal halide; and a hydrogen bubble-forming part (c-3) for housing the hydrogen-generating system therein and forming hydrogen gas through a reaction between the hydrogen-generating system and water (c-4) for generation, said hydrogen bubble-forming part (c-3) comprising a gas/liquid separation section provided with an openable valve (a). The hydrogen bubble-forming part is placed in an airtight container for holding the biocompatible solution therein and, by supplying the hydrogen gas, via the gas/liquid separation section, to the airtight container holding the biocompatible solution, a hydrogen-containing biocompatible solution can be obtained. At the same time, the openable valve is pushed and opened by the gas pressure of the hydrogen gas, which is generated in the hydrogen bubble-forming part by the reaction between the hydrogen-generating system and the water for generation, and thus the hydrogen gas is discharged into the airtight container located outside the hydrogen bubble-forming part. After the gas discharge, the valve is closed.
