A rack system (10) for an appliance is provided. The rack system includes a door link (30), a first coupler link (40), a first rack (60), a bracket (80), a second coupler link, and a second rack (100). The bracket (80) has a plurality of sites for attachment with the second coupler link (90). The door link (30) is attached to an appliance door (120). The first coupler link (40) is attached to the door link (30) and connected to the first rack (60). The bracket (80) is attached to either the first rack (60) or the second rack (100). The second coupler link (90) is attached to the bracket (80) at one of the sites for attachment and connected to whichever one of either the first or second racks to which the bracket is not attached. The rack system translationally couples angular displacement of the appliance door to linear movement of the first rack (60) and the second rack (100). The linear movement of the first and second racks can be non-staggered or staggered depending on the attachment site of the bracket to which the second coupler link is attached. |
