PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nonaqueous electrolyte for a lithium ion secondary battery, capable of suppressing generation of gas in a lithium ion secondary battery, and a lithium ion secondary battery.SOLUTION: A nonaqueous electrolyte for a lithium ion secondary battery contains 0.1-20 ppm of vanadium in terms of vanadium ions, and contains cyclic carbonate and chain carbonate. A lithium ion secondary battery includes: a positive electrode which includes a positive electrode active material adsorbing/desorbing lithium by an oxide reduction reaction of transition metal; a negative electrode capable of adsorbing/desorbing lithium; and the nonaqueous electrolyte. |
