PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus that includes a configuration capable of eliminating a possibility that a user inadvertently touches an LED array unit during insertion and withdrawal of a latent image carrier.SOLUTION: An image forming apparatus 1 includes an apparatus body to which a latent image carrier 2 is removably provided so that the latent image carrier 2 can be inserted and withdrawn into/from the apparatus body, and that comprises a housing to which a cover is provided that is opened and closed during insertion and withdrawal of the latent image carrier 2. The apparatus body is provided with an LED array head 5A that opposes to the latent image carrier 2. The image forming apparatus 1 further includes a mechanism to rotate the LED head array 5A in synchronization with the operation to insert and withdraw the latent image carrier 2 or the operation to open the cover that is opened and closed. |
