A FOUNDATION ASSEMBLY A foundation assembly (10) to support a beam (11) of a transportable building. The assembly (10) includes a threaded member (12) consisting of a shaft or tube (13) about which there is wound a spiral flange (14). The flange (14) is also fixed to the tube (13). The screw member (12) has a longitudinally generally upright axis (15), with the member (12) having an upper portion (16). A plate (24) is attached to the member (12) and is provided with a plurality of apertures (26) through which threaded fasteners (27) pass that upon being tensioned secure the beam (11) to the member (12).
