An airway management apparatus (10) for engagement with a catheter for oxygenation of a patient includes a main body (12) having a major axis, a first port (20) extending in a proximal direction along the major axis, a second port (30), and a third port (40) extending in a distal direction along the major axis. The third port (40) comprises a connector (46, 42) for engagement with a proximal end of the catheter (90). The connector may have a plurality of radially compressible members (42) extending in a distal direction, and circumferentially aligned to receive the catheter (90) proximal end. An axially movable member (46) is positioned to selectively compress the compressible members (42) around the catheter proximal end to form a locking engagement, and to release the compressible members (42). A wire guide (96) is insertable into the trachea through the first (20) and third ports (40), and the catheter (90). |
