PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a slide type vibration isolation joint cover device which hardly requires an overlap margin to the ground, and can cope with the movement of an earthquake with a small shape having a width approximately equal to the opening width of a groove for vibration isolation.SOLUTION: A slide type vibration isolation joint cover device for closing the upper opening of a groove 3 between a base-isolated building 1 and the surrounding ground 2 includes a cover body 21, and a sliding cover 22 which is slidably superposed on the cover body 21 and can extend with respect to the cover body 21 by the sliding operation. One end-side end part of the cover body 21 is coupled and supported to the base-isolated building 1, and the other end-side end part of the sliding cover 22 is supported to the ground 2 in a state superposed on the cover body 21. When the ground 2 moves relatively to the base-isolated building 1 in a direction expanding the width of the groove 3 in accordance with the occurrence of an earthquake, the sliding cover 22 slides and extends with respect to the cover body 21 according to the movement of the ground 2, whereby the closed state of the upper opening of the groove 3 is maintained. |
